Impression
of The Site
This
collage represents my initial thoughts on the site that I will be designing on. I see my Manhattan site as being very linear and
similar to a corridor due to its narrow dimensions. I also see the waterfront
aspect of this project as one of the driving forces for the design. The
location of the site creates many different possibilities for dynamic design.
Describe
The Word "Edge"
This collage represents my initial thoughts on the word
"edge". I view the word edge as a dividing boundary as well as a
contrast of color and geometry. This word can also be interpreted literally as
an actual edge as well.
Describe The Program
This collage
represents my visual interpretation of the program I will have in my design.
The goal is to appeal to the general need of improvement to the masses and
offer a unique take on wellness that they cannot achieve anywhere else. By
blending different programs together I will create a unique environment for
workouts of the body, mind, and spirit.
Visualization of Program
This is a revision
of my third collage capturing the program of my center. This center is focused
on promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. People who come to
this center should feel energized and revived as well as motivated to be
productive. This center will include a library, music and art space, mediation
space, spa, lecture chamber, reflection pool, and fitness center.
Ori, I understand the direction of your intentions. If I would design a building in this plot, I would leave empty all the first floor, even trying not to have any columns (needs a strange supporting or hanging structure) , so that the volume of all the building to be “flying”. I feel that if not do this , my building would be a “fence”(barer) between the 2 streets. I think the best is to free all the plot as a funnel-shaped square. I only share my feeling for the space. There are different solutions, of course.
ReplyDeleteGood selection of images.
ReplyDeleteThe color and tones of the last group is revealing of your intentions (with all the "warmth" and "coziness" that oozes from the pictures) and should be a reference for the next stages of your project.
Keep up the good work.
